Optus is committed to operating its business in a way that minimises its impact on the environment. This includes building its new Sydney campus to a 4.5 star environmental rating (out of 5) and the purchase of GreenPower and Carbon Offsets to make half of its national corporate tenancy building portfolio carbon neutral from November 2007. These initiatives helped Optus win the prestigious NSW Government 2008 Sustainability Green Globe Award in the commercial “Office and Tenant” sector.
